I have not tried to couple A727 Torqueflite to a LT 230. But a 727 is very strong which I have in my valiant Charger ( 408 cubic inch).
Currently I have developed two adapters to suit T700r4 (4L60E) VN to VS 4 bolt rear extension housing and VT onwards with a 6 bolt rear housing to LT 230 transfer case. I will be testing soon in my 86 rangie. The later model VT onwards adapter will be testing in a comp car with a GEN III
I believe this is the way to go with the lower 1st, 2nd, 3rd. These gearboxes are cheaper to rebuild and can be built to 600 to 700hp.
I will keep you posted on this forum site on the out comes of my testing.
