RR cant start

pull out & dust off the multi meter

Do the "short it out method" as the boys suggested or

There's a positive terminal post on the fire wall near the brake booster ... Your Positive line runs from there to starter motor ... Check connections

Take positive starter motor solinoid wire off and test voltage ( need some to turn the key on)
There is a relay somewhere for it .. maybe on the fire wall

That Terminal post gets real tired .. Test what volts you are getting to both sides of post If you look inside the cabin .. left of the steering column // you will see the other side of the terminal post .... Inspect & test the brown wires feeding off it

If you come up with than less than 1 volt than what the battery is at ... time to get a auto spark to change that terminal post on the firewall (but it wont be the cause of the solinoid not working)

Can I suggest to first have a look at the blade connectors on top of the starter solonoid.
Its pretty common for the wire from the ign switch to fall off, or get dirty so that there is no contact. Just lean in with a torch and have a look and pull em off and replace them.

When you turn the key how many idiot lights do you get and how many were you getting before it wouldn`t start .

If there`s a difference or a lack of idiot lights try wiggling/rocking/pushing the key in the ignition while having it turned to on and/or start .

If you can get the idiots to come on/off etc the back may have come off the ignition switch . It`s only held together by small clips .
The electrical part of the switch is under the cover on the collumn but opposite side to the key .

Also with your charged battery turn the lights on and turn to start if there`s a dead short the lights will dull but i`m thinking you know this .

Hey Oysters, did you get it running?
If so, what was the problem?

I finally found a fault, the spade terminal on the solenoid. The solder connection was loose and when the electrician repaired the starter motor the connection was ok and when I installed the motor and wired, it put strain in a different direction which stopped the connection.
Removed motor again cleaned off old solder and resoldered and checked out to be fine.
