Beware the 2nd hand lights - there were a lot replaced under warranty - they leak in the rain.

lol well i have been looking for mav/patrol to buy and was planing to spend 10k on decent one
but this deal is to hard to turn down. i paid a deposit today on the car $500 of the agreed $6500.
    No hydrolic winch.
    Near new cooper road tyres
Cd player removed (im fitting alpine unit)
compressor put back in (was taken out and put in his wrangler)
    RWC and 4 months rego.

so in a month or 2 i will have my 99 ES disco
    which i will keep

You really need to post a picture of this car.

You have said he pulled out the rear air spring compressor so he can get the car into his garage. Wouldn't this make the rear end sit on the bump stops and be much lower than the front?
Also why would he put his air spring compressor in his Wrangler?
I have never heard of anyone converting theirs to pump tyres if that is what he used it for.

Maybe this is a Disco1 with poly air type bags and he has just called it a 4 litre as he rounded up 3.9 (as Land Rover did).

If that is the case then the price is pretty normal and the speedo can be tampered with easily.

    will do.
    its a 99 ES 4l v8 auto
the air bags are still in there just defalted heaps (airbags in rear only), the compressor was removed for his other 4wd but airbags can still be inflated deflated at servo.

Yeah, i'd be very very surprised if it's a D2 - sounds much more like a D1 especially if it's prominently badged as an ES.

The door handles would settle the debate. Flat handles and it is a D1, Grab handles and it is a D2.

at $6500 there is no way it is a D2, unless it is bashed up massively!!

sorry but won't believe it till I see it!

    Pictures tell a 1000 words!

Abit off topic but does anyone know why the ARB front bar with the single hoop in the centre is only made for the newer D2's? - the one with the little round headlights, can it be easily modded for the earlier D2's?

(probably won't need my sidesteps now, DOH! although i could tell you they are for a D1 as well?)
