OK, this is where i mounted the EMS 1, I didn't like the EMS 2, because it was hard to read and i didn't like where it was mounted either so i upgrade to the EMS 1 and mounted it here.

    Baz,

Did you consider installing the display unit on top of the dash?

I am looking at placing mine in the right hand side of the well just in front of the radio vent. My concern is that the instruction say do not operate unit in direct sunlight @ 50 deg. The storage temperature range is 80 deg.

I know it will get fairly hot when parked but the temperature inside the vehicle must equalize somewhat when you open the door, unless your in a 50 deg heatwave

And if the temperature is high, it must come down as you would get most of the heat out ASAP via A/C or open windows.

I think its a great position as you can have a quick glance just like you would with the original guages and it is in your line of vision.

Another position that maybe a compromise is to attach it to the left side of the binicle switches. It would be covering the air vent a little but it would be in a more protected position than on top of the dash.

    Still sussing it all out
