manually disconnect swaybars when off road

is this doable in a d2 with coils all round and no SLS?

if so, is it relatively easy? to crawl under, undo something and then re-attach when i'm done playing around?

    cheers as always.

Found this on the The D-90 Source site.

Can't vouch for it but looks pretty simple.

It's the front sway bar on a D2 that that restricts travel, disconnecting the rears doesn't make any difference in travel.

What restricts the rear travel is the watts link, at full articulation it binds on where it mounts, stopping downward travel.
These 2 pics are of my D2 with the front sway bar disconnected, at this stage i had more travel than Discowhites D90, of coarse i don't come even close with rear travel.

You can get quick disconnects for the D2, from memory one of the guys from the d2au site sells them.

thankyou. can i disconnect the front swaybar out on the trail and then re-connect again before the drive home? is it the sort of thing i can do with spanners and a few minutes? or does the car need to be in a certain position/weight load, etc before it can be done with the existing setup?

Disco 1's are a little harder. On a P38 and a D2 the main part of the sway bar (the parallel to the axles) is attached to the axles with two arms coming off which then attach to the chassis. On a D1 its the other way round where the long bit is attached to the chassis and two arms connect to the axles. I guess you can still unbolt the ends but you've got to attatch to something.

Yes, it's 2 bolts then you'll need to cable tie them out of the way.
