According to Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
    they're 803.65mm or 31.64".

7.50 represents the sidewall hieght, so 2x7.50+16=31"

    But that's theoretical, not actual

thanks Scott, thats a great tyre size calculator...wish I had seen that before

in short a 7.50R16 is about 31.64 inch and a 235/85/16 is about 31.72 inch, pretty much the same theoretically

    thanks

Er no, 7.50 is the max width of the tyre, nothing to do with height, thats where the aspect ratio comes in. Though most old crossply aspect ratios are around 100%

The 235/85/16 is too wide for my stock RR so I stick with the 7.50R16. That's a tight fit as it is, sometimes a little too tight .

well you can get 600,650 750 and 900 16s in radial, 900 16 xzl miche's are 36+ tall, so that 100% aspect ratio is very loose, sure its close for the 750 16 but a 900 16 would only come in at 34, which isnt the case.
