didnt even think of that! i'll be doing oil changes all round before i drive it next, so i'll make sure thats done too.

I have also drowned my Disco. From experience, washing the carpets with a pressure washer and letting them dry outside the vehicle works a treat.

As for the engine and running gear, change every oil you can think of.

Finally, for the 'ducks' bill vent in the LH wheel arch, I lubricate that with rubber grease (Cindy the inflatable finally comes in handy!) and that seems to keep the water out.

This is what i did when i drowned my Disco, not as bad as you though, but enough to wet the carpet, wash the carpet, then dry it.

I use fans to dry mine, make sure you lift it to get underneath, just taking the trim off that holds it down is enough.

Been there, done that! Had all the tranny troubles you mentioned but didn't drive it till we took off the intercooler(?) hose & blew out the water. I was stuck for half an hour after the initial stall. After still having diff oils changed shortly after numerous water incidents I've still had to have both diffs rebuilt recently.

With water in the carpets I've found using 12 or so tennis balls works a treat. Place 3-4 under the carpet in each footwell, they're easy to manouver into the corners & raise it enough to let the air in, but takes a week or so.
