I've been running Hankook Muddies since 2004 now. They won't mix it with the bigger names, but honestly if you are after a tyre that will take you further and won't cost you the earth, they might do the job.
And to be honest, I've shocked a lot of people where they will go with a little adjustment in tyre pressures - which is what makes all the difference most of the time.
I run 235/85 R16's on the Defender, cost has been approx $175 to $200 per tyre for the last 4 years running. Not sure if that will increase with their new tyre, but worth a look.
Wear rates are approx 25k at most with my driving, but my old girl spends a lot of time off-road, and with the lockers in a little bit.
Cheers
Chris
Toyo Proxes T1-R for street and play,
$230 a pop in 225/50R16
getting worn (and way too hard) after nearly 30,000km so i'm stepping up to something a lil more aggressive/soft
enter the:
Toyo Proxes R888
$390-ish each, and yes, i pay that quite happily
obviously my idea of play is slightly different to most people on here!
