What type of electrical connectors for accessories?

My personal preference is Deutsch. They make many of the OEM connectors, etc

Have a look through that lot. They are available from AED. They are beautiful, waterprooof, vibration broof, all the options are available.

Me too. I made a triple outlet switched and fused accessory panel inside the rear of the County using these and switches with pilot lights. A bonus is they match the 12v. outlet on my Chinese generator. I also made up a three outlet power board and an extension lead using them. All my electrical camping accessories now have the plugs so they can be used on either source.

While they may be OK they are clearly not designed to be joined and separated often.
Why not go for the Arrid, Merit, Hella style plugs which are designed to be used often. If you look at them you will see that they are designed to have a "spring" tension on the connection and be able to be joined /separated often.

ooops... ok I'll have another look at them. I kinda grabbed at those because they looked ok, and because those Anderson ones have been falling apart and exposing the contacts, which is quite dangerous. :o

Hi Captain, I carry those but did not offer them to you for the very reason posted by PhilipA.

They are great as driving light plug and sockets and for uses of that nature but each time they are plugged or unplugged, the loose some of their contact between the terminals.

While you can get around this problem by squeezing the female terminals together every so often, they are still not really a solution to your problem.

Because you are having a problem with the powerpole type Anderson connectors, why not just go for the Grey 50 amp Anderson plugs and be done with it.
