    Brake seal

    Hi All,
The seal for the brake reservoir to the master cylinder has started to leak,
Is the process to fix the same for a d2 as a d1, which I have the manual for?
Should I take the car in or attempt to do this myself (potential damage ).
Any info on where to source this part would be great, Im going to try South coast seals on the Gold Coast Monday morning, Land rover were $111.00 for the kit.
    Any input is greatly appreciated

The official workshop manual method requires pulling the master cylinder off and dismantling it. In reality, the reservoir can be carefully removed without breaking the transfer housing (the stem of which protrudes into the rear seal). I did the seals on the Disco not long back and it's not difficult. I didn't even remove the master cylinder or disconnect any pipes.

Whilst I had the reservoir off, I gave it a good blast inside and out with the high pressure water cleaner (I only bought the two seals, not a whole kit with reservoir) then rinsed it in metho.

I don't have the D2 manual with me to check if it is the same.

    Thanks P38arover,
Where did you get your seals from?

Any good brake place should have the seals.

If possible take them with you but they will be able to look up the correct part.

I think I paid about $5 for the front and $8 for the rear when I did mine (but I stuffed the first rear one using a screwdriver to get it to reseat)
