I'm assuming you have a V8 Disco/RR here, as this is the most common enquiry.

Number 1 spark plug lead, (Passenger side bank, front plug is number 1)should be immediately to the Right of the front facing distributor cap hold down clip. In a clockwise direction when viewed from the top, the firing order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2.
The even numbers are the drivers side bank, the odd are the passenger side bank.,
