LRA type flares would need support in another dimension ('filled in' look...... back to the guard) if they were to hold their shape in plastic.

Filled in ones defeat the purpose, the tyre needs that space on articulation. First time a simex goes near it, it will rip it off

Yes I have had my simex's trim my flares before - it's not pretty. I still think there are some opportunities to add some more glass to these to give them strength though. When the wheel articulates it still has to clear what is left of the panel that the flare mounts to. I think you should be able to fill the area enclosed by an imaginary line from the outer most part of the flare up to the panel?

Can you get a more flexible material that would allow you to create this imaginary line that hardens when you add a resin and then back fill the flare?

The Innovation 4x4 flares with the return (covered area) on the inner edge are a larger opening than the standard LRA flares.

THey are similar to the XXL LRA flares, so scrubbing the tyre on the flare is not an issue.

    What about expanda foam??
Will go hard, but may be a possibility. Easy to work with aswell.

    Cheers

Bend a bit of 12mm rod up to follow the line of the inner lip of the flare and glass that in, that will toughen it up
