    Angry Heater core leaking???????

Was cleaning the carpet today in the Disco and when i lifted the floor mat on the front passenger side it was wet.Wet enough for it to be dripping through and on to the carport floor. Left a small puddle under the car.I had a look at the overflow bottle and half of the coolant had disappeared All the hoses for the air con are connected properly underneath the dash and i dont use it because it needs to be regassed. What i need to know is....Has my heater core spat the dummy? And is it hard to replace it? Also could it be anything else? By the way its a 93 Discovery V8 3.5 auto if that helps. The one with the early square dash.

    This might help
Half way down on first page P38rover gives a link

To test ... just pressure the coolant system (pump air on a sealed cap ... or ... warm up motor & turn off engine) and put you hand & eyes in the location to feel the drips

If your lucky ... it may be the Aircon water drain pipe (if you have been using it as a demister)

Well im pretty sure it was the heater core.Had a look under the dash and there was coolant leaking down the side of what i think is the heater core.So i disconnected the hoses which run into the firewall for the heater and just joined them together using a small piece of pipe.Seems to be alright for now but it also means i have no heater and no aircon So does anyone know if you have to take the whole dash out to take the heater core out? Any help would be great!

Not good to hear Chris. Even if it's a dash out style job it's not that difficult....the difficulty lies in getting your head around it. I have Disco heater box in the shed and I'll check it out for you. Most times it is just the lower half of dash that needs to be removed.
Sing out if you need a hand.
