So how do I increase my tyre size without reducing articulation?

Well, its not the case, so best not use it for your case, unless you know for sure:)

Neither RR or Disco will clear 35's with no body lift unless, the suspension is stoopid stiff, the bump stops are extended or the wheels are offset far enough to be outside the gaurds:D

Whatever Matt, it's a mute point anyway as he's not talking WInker lifts and tractor tyres here.

My appologies if I upset you or being missleading about the body lift crap, but cut the crap out of anything and anything will fit.

Original inner guards and comp trucks rarely stay together for all that long and we were not talking your average shopping trolley mums taxi toorak tractor here are we.

You go on about semantics all the time but your the expert at picking at things until thats all thats left.

Thanks for your insite to a truck that would now be around 10 years old and may or maynot have had a body lift at the time I heard the story or when the person telling me the story had seen and been told of the vehical.

So now the rule stands (as per Rovercare) that if you hear about something you cant post it.........news flash Matt, the whole thing about a forum is it is hear say.

When YOU have actually done the mods you talk about, maybe you won't be, but others third and forth hand info, becomes irrelevant and errors in the info occur

No - only in your opinion/experience.

IMHO spacers are not a good way to go about suspension lift. Relatively short spacers may be ok for minor leveling.

If thick spacers are used, then the bump stops should be lowered to prevent coil binding.

If the coils bind, then you will likely crack the chassis around the spring perch.

Thats a fair call Matt but I may not have a body lift on my Disco it doesnt mean I havnt done any to others.

Being a mechanic has allowed me to do many different things and not just repair turf machinery, I just have chosen to do that as my job and I do or have done the other stuff as my hobby for a long time and Ive done a lot of things that I havnt done to my own car.

There are many taller springs available off the shelf (not custom) that will raise a disco/rangie without using spacers, and not reduce articulation - in fact allow more articulation.

LRA has allready been mentioned.

My disco has off the shelf King springs KTFS 69C under the rear and KTFS 94C under the front. The lift is about 3" (maybe more) and no surprise, the articulation is greater than stock (my bilstein shocks have 10" stroke, 2" longer than stock).

My rangie has 12" travel at the springs and does not dislocate. Again the springs are off the shelf.

My bushie has 14" travel at the springs and the springs are off the shelf.
