    Question What Turbo is this?

I just took delivery of a 1996 300tdi Defender 110 wagon. Arrived by rail from Perth to replace my old blue 1995 that needs an engine transplant. On inspecting it when it got here I noticed that it has a water cooled turbo. Does anyone recognise what it is off?

    Any help appreciated.

On doing further research I think it may be a Mitsibishi TD04, perhaps an MTQ Kit.
The MTQ uses a Mit Td04 water cooled turbo and replacement exhaust manifold. Existing oil line is used and water lines are connected into the cooling system.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks

You are correct Brendan, I have fitted a few of these, and they are not a bad unit. Had to up the boost / wastegate adjustment on one of them, it was way out. (They do recommend a check and adjust in the kit destructions, but this one was a long way out) They are still going well, one having covered at least 100K now.

    Turbo Charged heating

and with the turbo getting its cooling from the heater hoses, you end up with a very warm heater.
