    Plenty of people have done it. Search here and outerlimits4x4.

    Most people who have fitted a patrol rear axle have suffered driveline vibes because of the centred diff. Most people fit an 80 series rear and GQ/GU front for that reason. The nissan front almost bolts straight in.

    That said, the salisbury centre in your 110 is as strong or stronger than the strongest nissan diff (H260) - and stronger bthan the strongest toyota diff, and the axles (weakest link) can be upgraded using Dana 60 bits from the US and/or McNamara parts to be stronger again.

    The front can be upgraded quite easily as well.

    The biggest shame is that Toyota never widened the diff sets used in the LC60 and fitted them to the LC80/100. These would have been as good as they get....

    Anyway, that doesn't answer your question

    Hi Lamrover;

    Yes it is possible , and it has been done before , you'll never break the diffs or axles , John Davis does this conversion on Rangies with the Nissan factory lockers and for a while I was thinking of putting in Nissan GQ Diffs under Rear of my Rangie , but I think the issue was/is if you don't get the pinion angles correct then you might introduce strange vibrations I think Camo in here had it done to his Rangie Prior to changing over to 80' series rear diff.

    Edit: Damn ben you Beat me to it lol

    It was a licenced copy of a US (Dana) diff... However LR managed to select the optional (stronger) 6-gear centre (most US D60s are 4-gear), BUT, they downgraded the axles from the standard 1.3" to 1.24" diamater...

    Some US D60s came with 1.5" 30-spline. The Nissan H260 comes with 1.5" 37 spline (but Semi-Floating, so inherently weaker).

    McNamara make a 1.5" 35 spline conversion for salisbury axles.

    You also get 4.1 ratios and many who've done the conversion say the brakes are much better. I think the track is a bit wider which is also good.

    If you pay someone to do it, its probably cheaper to upgrade the rover stuff.

    GQ diffs are getting really cheap now, 80 Series rears generaly cost a bit more. I'm surprised someone hasnt made up a jig and started selling 80 series rears ready to bolt in....

    To match the stud pattern and track to the Nissan front.

    thanks for the replys, I will be doing it myself, benifits I see are 4.11:1 ratio to get sals and front diff that ratio $$$, i would have disc brakes all round as I have a drum rear county, patrol gear is very strong and cheaper for rims as well. dose it vibe in the rear because the diff is centered rather than offset.
