I just use 3AG fast blow fuses from Jaycar:

They are a slightly different length you are right, but they fit in the fusebox clips fine, and I have never had a problem.
Hi All,
In trying to sort out my tail/park light problem, I've come across some dud fuses and decided to replace them. They are standard "wire in a glass tube" fuses found in all Counties and I thought they'd be easy to find. I was wrong.
After driving around all of my local suppliers I found the fuses on the shelves are either too long or too short. I have made nearly 20 phone calls today and drawn a blank. One guy even suggested I replace my fuse box with something more up to date.
So does anyone know where to get these things. The original items have a slip of paper inside the glass tube with "Lucas" written on it and the amps it carries. I need 2.5, 8, 10 & 12 amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Dave.

Thanks Ben. I have been able to force the longer fuses in, but would prefer to go with the original spec if I can get them. Also, in some slots I've found the longer fuses tend to want to stick out a bit at one end. They still work but don't look too secure.
Maybe you should paint it orange and insert an r in the name:

OT - I almost got run off the road yesterday by a metrosexual in a Mitsubishi challenger (speeding, and didn't move over to pass me).
I found out he work for this company LaVish Channel(if I worked there I could never tell my mates what I did for a living...)
They have a nice set of stairs out the front of their office...
The Jaycar idea is the right one. try an electronics supply place such as them - mine actually came from Tandy (since taken over by Dick Smith). The other place to try would be an auto electrician.

I have never had a problem buying glass tube fuses of any size. Pretty well any auto parts store around here has a full range of fuses.

Make sure you get the fuses with the wire soldered in. I have spent too many hours faultfinding only to discover the problem has been an el cheapo fuse.
