I like this LS# idea, but how hard would it be to hook it up to a ZF auto?

Easier to adapt the "GM" auto and adapting to the tfr or finding a tfr that sits behind it (there are one or two from memory of another thread)
Has anyone stroked and twin turboed a 3.9.. I'm thinking due to all the compliance factors and engineers for a full conversion it could be cheaper and create a very torquey engine with the right stroke and some little ball bearing turbo's with an intercooler of course the rebuild would include some mild head work and all the good bits for strengthand balancing and blue printing etc.. How would the 3.9 handle it??
A Holden V8 only weighs 50kg more than your Rover V8 , with alloy heads its only 25Kgs . When using the 308 allways fit a stroker kit taking it out to 355 or 383 or even 400 cubes . If only someone would make/produce/sell a adapter for the T700 to a LT230 ,what an easy conversion that would be.
Twin turbo a RV8. laughable ! Complete WOFTAM ! Wont make it around the block before you end up with 2 four cylinder blocks or it caught fire .fitted with screamer pipes , yeah )All that just for less than 9lbs boost !otherwise it goes bang !
I'd start with a later 4.0 block (cross bolted) and top hat it first and get the later heads and thor manifold. Modify the manifold to accept two inlets (one each side, feed fwd from turbo through I/C and back into manifold). Modify to run MAP sensor (not essential with F/I but preferable).
I would start with a 3.5 then drill and tap for four bolt mains, then top hat... then RPI valves and thor manifold then EFi reveresed manifolds and choose turbo and away you go lol
Almost right the holden weighs 238kg the LR 144kg., add another 25kgs to the holden if a manual and starter fitted, that's a trifling 124kg. difference, Regards Frank.Quote:
