    Building Salisbury

I'm procrastinating building a sals for my rangie, anyone got much info?

I'm thinking it would be a reliable upgrade as I tow alot of heavy stuff now and can see myself doing some nasty recoveries sooner or later

I wan't decent pics of a shave, and I need to decide whether to go 30 or 35 spline

I have a drum braked sals here and hoped to convert to disks

Might have to talk to Kieth, even though the aussie dollar is ****, its easier than dealing with Jeff

Also have to decide what locker?

You have to ASK what locker??? That Detroit is the best upgrade I have done apart from the 4BD1...
I know where a complete disc to disc sals is with 70,000km only... ...AND it's for sale!

Yea, but you never had selectable lockers to start with

Of course its a great upgrade, you haven't paid for it

Have a Sals here, may aswell use it, as buy the time I get that one here it'll be a 1k gone

If your going to go any kind of traction aid and your planning on abusing it ID go the detroit over a full selectable locker, if you werent planning on doing heavy recovery or consistant heavy towing (esp if you want to tow off road) then the full locker can have an advantage over the troit.

a full locker cant do some of the sneakery that the troit can do if your used to driving a series and know about the braking over terrain tricks.

But when you are over here I can fit it for you and then you can just throw the old banjo in the back on top of Emilys camping gear...(I'll even drain most of the oil out of it for you first though...)

..And I will be depositing some folding shortly, or do you want it in notes when you come over???

    Either/or is fine

What I need is to sell the existing maxi to someone in Tas and grab the nice low kay sals whilst there, but you don;t have a lathe to sort the tailshaft

I've had plenty of exposure driving both and do prefer the selectable in a constant 4, but the Detroit has the price advantage and I won;t have to reset the centre, more to the point, wont have to source shims

But I wont be able to buy a detroit for $630 again, while the dollar is down

    Matt,

Just did a sals conversion to a D1, got the shaft shortened etc before lunch the next day. Cost $80.00.

$630??? I was going to give you $650!!!, I guess with interest it's now $700...

I'll work on finding a home for the Maxi then?
