    Range Rover Propeller Shaft - Rear

    Hi Guys,
    I have asked several people this question and have have received two opposite answers - Not fun, hey?
    Anyway, my question is this;
    Will a Propeller Shaft from an 85/86 Manual Transmission fit a 90 model Range Rover Classic (Auto) - Common sense says - yes several other parts resellers have said "NO" Other parts resellers have said - "Don't Know" better ask someone who works on them.

    Well we all work on the blasted things but seldom two different models at the same time.

    Surely there is someone who knows for sure, hey?

    Cheers,
    Shirley.....

    Yes it will, But check the yoke sizes...
    The transfer case is in the same spot in both man and auto.

    I have an 84 rangie and a 98 disco. The same tailshafts (front and rear) from the rangie fitted the disco (disco rubber donut was lost a few years ago).

    Unless you have one of the long wheel base rangies it should fit.

    Hi John,
    I had a feeling that Landrover / Range Rover were not the type of company that would go to any un necessary trouble changing tailshafts when the wheelbase was still the same.
    Thanks John, much appreciated,
    Shirley...

    It just didn't seem logical to change shafts with vehicles of the same wheelbase.
    I'll check it out, thank you........
