Was just wondering is there anyone in northern Tassie who knows anything and would like to give me a hand one weekend?
Ill pay for beer and fuel
Thanks

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
It looks a nightmare ..but if you break it down to small pieces it will all make sense. If you can, trace each wire and make a circuit diagram.
When you re-do it, try to do it in a way that will make it easier for future fault finding ( different coloured wires, label the wires etc ).
You've got an ARB locker there, which is probably the most complicated bit. But it's only one switch to activate the compressor and then another to activate the locker solenoid.
Yeh its a bit like that.
I asked a mate to pull the batteries out of the blue one for me
Never again
Im just hoping I can find someone who can make sense of it all
by the looks of that,,
pulling it all apart was the best thing you could have done![]()

What he said,
I see a relay in there that looks like it might have been used to switch in the Aux battery, it is that round silver coloured thing at the back of the battery box with four studs to fasten the wires to. Two heavy wires and two lighter ones, the lighter ones are the control wires.
Hope some one local comes along to give you a hand, otherwise we will have to do it with pictures.
Do you have a wiring diagram of what it should look like?? If you do I can put it back together so it works pretty easily, but without it it would take a bit of work.

Hi Jock,
I would start with an Electronic dual battery Isolator. You can buy these cheaply on EBay or $99 from Jaycar Electronics. These units charge your main battery first & then Auxilary battery.
They also prevent appliances such as fridge from using (& flattening )main starting battery.
Units should come with wiring diagram & instructions so you can wire your vehicle correctly.
Cheers..B
I had the same issue with my old 60 series, the blokes at Battery Zone in Pakenham Vic had the best set up for simplicity, reliability and cost. We used a dual battery isolator from the marine industry $140 but there were no big cable from 1st to 2nd battery. First removed all second battery cables, second we fitted black box near second battery, third ran wires from black box to output wires on Alternator then ran heavy cables from black box to second battery. I am a great cabinet maker crap auto elec but this was real easy and designed for wet bouncy hard environment.
The box picks up voltage from alt then it knew when to change to charge over to the second battery plus protect the first from going flat. No fancy smancy stuff in the cab it only took about 20 minutes to fit.
Hope this helps
