PM Hagus, he has a very heavy canopy and roof top tent on his 130 and has gone through all the suspension issues and options. I know he doesn't spend to much time on here (unlike some of us) so that's probably the best way to contact him.
before you lot yell at me I have not found a thread about 130 air bags....heaps of 90, disco and 110 but not 130,
anyway we need air bags in our 130....Camper has squished our springs a little bit so any advice would be be helpful.....we have polyair on the Disco and have worked just fine though the 130 is a different matter

well, it is sort of mentioned in the air bag thread
You need to remove the 130 inner springs to fit Poly Airs, Air Rite, et al, so that doesn't really give you any extra load carrying capacity.
You would need to replace the main springs with a heavier duty version, eg. Lovells @ 540lb/in and slot 110 air bags inside them.
What about heavy duty springs?
Mine is like a brick. Hasn't noticed anything yet and we have stacked the back with bricks, and other such heavy things in the past.

Have had Air Bag Man for years on my 130. Installed easy enough. Found they worked well with a full camping load & also with camper trailer on back. Use the different air pressures to my advantage depending on loads & conditions.
Found pumping them higher than normal, it make the truck feel like it has a massive rear swaybar. This is a help with our rally recovery that we do, travelling fast behind the main competitors clearing the course. The rear of the truck can get really wishy washy on the standard springs when you throw it hard into dirt road corners.
Like having the softness of original springs for 4wding rather than putting more heavy duy ones in
Hope it help

Geoff, any chance of posting up the Firestone numbers off those bags next time you crawl under the back please ?
(pretty sure The Airbag Man uses Firestone bags)
Darwin Dan has airbags and the standard dual springs on his 130.

I thought I might try a thread re-cycle here.
Our 110 is on the standard springs. When lightly loaded it's all ok - but has a firm ride, however when its full for our camping trips the rear is a bit soft.
I have a set of standard 110 springs I I was thinking of putting them in and poly airs (or similar). That way when lightly loaded we would have a better ride, yet when on a trip we could pump them a little and get firmer springing.
Does that sound like a reasonable plan?
