300tdi cooling system question

Especially if you've just been for a run with the A/C and you get warm moist smelly yucky air blowing out when you jump in again:D:D

What's even worse is that there is a foam seal that deteriorates at the bottom of the core and the ducting (the core projects through the bottom of the box) and it allows hot engine bay in to the main ventilation system.
Absolutely beautiful on a stinking hot day.

What were they thinking ??
