Yeah it is interesting. The original rear lift up window has been grafted back onto the SWB body after the ute chop and a 200lt alu tank sits under that.
Will take some pics and post up when he brings it in next if he ok's it.
Need to find out what chassis and rear diff it is too because whoever originally repaired the cracked pumpkin ground so much out of it and left it paper thin in places and the whole thing is weak and metal fatigued, leading to more stress cracks which I fixed but I told him they will keep happening if he doesn't replace the rear diff housing with good one.
    cheers, Dave

Thanks for that, Yeah it is exactly as you describe, a 4speed. He's been told not to use the o/d unless on a flat highway with a tail wind or downhill . Apparently these o/d's can overheat if under too much load?

Talkin LT95 Fairey Its not so much they overheat but the needle rollers on the input shaft run just on the housing not on races, and they brinell.
You can get needle rollers with their own races that fit.
    Also the thrust washers disintegrate.
But the main bearings are all LT95 bearings so they are OK.
I rebuilt one with a friend but it only lasted a couple of years before it started jumping out of gear on override, so i think the thrust was dying again.
And I was super careful only to use it in 4th high with only a 3.5.
    Regards Philip A
