thinking about a p76

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that cast manifolds from a EFI 3.9 will fit P76 heads (or was that rover heads on a P76 block??) and should give the necessary clearance to the chassis rails - anyone had any experience with this?

I have some rusty extractors on a P76 in a RR which need replacing......

No width issues, he has spacers already.

To fix the clearance issue I am under the impression that cortina engine mounts are the go. They are the same as LR but not as tall. I could be wrong....

With a Rangie/Lucas EFI manifold and spacers to fit the P76 block, Won't he need a great big hole in the bonnet or a bump like the Puma Defenders for the plenum?

This is of interest for other reasons, which Cortina and how much shorter are they?

Nope, plenty have done it some on here too, the efi plenum is probably no higher then the strombergs.

With that sort of compression it may have 3.5 RR pistons. Standard P76 are deep dished.
I used holden starfire pistons in mine (Lower compression height) with Rover heads. Runs very well on ULP.

No but with the P76 block the extra stroke length makes the inlet ports slightly higher, then with the spacers it places the manifold about 1" higher. My P76 with Holley was already pressing on the bonnet lining, with an extra 1" it would be hitting the underside of the metal.

If you want to run the efi on a 4.4 it will all clear with a small body lift.

thanks for all your help guys, i am investigating a body lift so that was great to read i only want about 25mm of lift though so do you think that would be enough, or cortina engine mounts, and does anyone know if the rangie flywheel and clutch for a lt77 box will bolt onto the p76 crank
