Thanks you're firing me up to fit mine. :)
Sorry Scott oz asked another question and didn't try to answer yours. Oil is likely leaking from your front camshaft seal. Cheap and easy fix buy an new one (part no I think LD1100030) and slot it in. Also not sure if it makes a difference but if you removed the EGR water jacket it may be an idea to blank off the EG inlet and outlet and refit with the water pipes connected. Others more in the know than me may have a comment but I believe the water coming in to one side of the water jacket is coming from the oil cooler on the RHS of the engine, passing through the EGR cooler and into the radiator expansion tank. I wondered if this would cause any changes in flow of coolant through the oil cooler if blocked completely so put the EGR cooler back and reconnected the water pipes to allow the flow to remain as per factory spec. No idea if it will make a difference...!
Tombie2,
Too late completely removed and re plumed. Ran a new line from the side oil cooler outlet and joined into the 3way connection just below the water reservoir.
In hindsight what I should have done was re-route the hose from the metal pipe down to the unused and taped inlet nipple in the lower radiator left side.
If you look at the diagram in the manual, TD5’s without the water cooled EGR the line goes from the oil cooler on the right side around the back of the motor (metal pipe) then into the radiator. All standard
After doing the plumbing I had a look at my radiator and sure enough there is the “unused / taped” inlet nipple. I would think it requires the radiator to be removed. Which makes it a bigger job. But all standard, just like the vacuum hose I’m trying to get.
