    Stuck Injector !

    Hi Guys,
I attempted to remove my injectors from 300TDI Today 3 of which came out relatively easy, 1 that did not

Made up a slide hammer, etc etc, but the bottom has screwed off the injector and the thread is not holding any more ??
Read through many posts here but still no help ??
I can borrow an Oxy if needed !, Or is it too Late for that ?

Can anyone give me any suggestions ?? without having to remove the head ?

Cheers and Thanks in advance !

Well, I have read that a very unsafe and dodgy method is to put a few towels and bags over the offending injector and kick it over on the starter......

Then put a socket on the crank and turn it over by hand

Hey Mike, This I can do !, But sorry if I sounds silly but what are we archiving by doing this ? Obviously there is allot of Compression in the cylinder but enough to remoev a injector that is that stuck ?

P.S.......... Any chance of grabbing that tail shaft back Mate, Almost ready to use it !

Well you have pull it, hit it & wrenched it .... Not much more can be done tonight .. So "pushing it" with the compression and a tug on the injector "just might" give you the edge to remove it, before you turn in for the night ..... Personaly tho .... The gas axe was sounding kinda serious

    Propshaft ...
Considering that we pass each other just about every second day ... No Problems .... Will drop it off tomorrow afternoon (It's all clean & shiny with a head of new grease)

And at the same time ... could give you a 5 minute hand tomorrow, after work, to get that injector out ... as I work just around the corner from the Galleria ...

Ive "read" that compression will move a stuck 'jector too... I would reiterate the "put a few towels and bags over..." advice when using the starter motor and diesel injection method of removal.

Was kinda funny, bent the fuel lines pretty neatly, injector was fairly dead before, but very dead after the event....

Crikey! I thought the method Rick130 had "read" about used only compression to shift the recalcitrant injector - not fully-fledged combustion with the injection pump & pipe still attached!!

No wonder the pipes bent neatly. How many blocks away was the ejected injector found!!

Ok, Removed head to get the injector out and found major probs with the head (2 x cracks)! Since I'm building up this car for touring the injector was a blessing n disguise !!... I was under the impression it was all good !!! and now glad I took a look !
