the cooling systems arnt adequate when brand new, so no matter how much servicing you do(which i agree with doing) it wont make it better.
 
dont take my posts the wrong way, im not here bashing LR's and saying Toyo's or Nissan are tops.... im just bashing LR's 
 
i have never owned a "car" only LR's, series , Range rover and defender...
my thoughts have nothing to do with the ZD30 as kicking off the idea. its an overall view looking at history of manufacturing.... they are able to build closer to the line of planned absolecence than they use to be, cars like any material item are turned over way more often than years gone by, thats our westen culture!
 
LR has a history of reducing the quality of design at the cost of new tooling. look at the cv, axles hubs etc all have been changed for the worse that would have cost them money to change the tooling........why BOTTOM LINE.  ontop of which they have no quality control.
 
300tdis may be ok in a disco of def that only gets a couple of adults and a bit of gear, but use them as a work vehicle, LIKE THEY ARE MENT TO BE DESIGNED and they wont last the distance...
 
if all your defender does is leaks id be surprised, never had any elec problems? lights, head light switch? gauges?, absolutely no corrosion? cast alloy mirror arms? caps that hold the windscreen frame to bulkhead? no rust in your bulkhead? no back lash in the drive line due to excessive axle/flange wear?
 
my def is not the execption.... im not stuck under a rock....
 
tell me this if u could choose a 2 ltr 100kw or 3ltr 100kw engine what would you choose?
