Ok so what about if i use 2 front 80 series diff centers? I may have to wait till they pop up but Im really digging this e-locker setup.
Vern, If I have to source a rear from the states with an e-locker, what model would I look for? is it a hylux in the states with an e-locker?
Maybe I should just get a pair of 80 series diffs complete and do the fab work, then i can go get a set of toyota axles if i ever break one (instead of spending another $800 or whatever) Plus if i was ever in the bush I rekon id have more chance of buying a spare toyota wheel off someone instead of a rangie hehe.
Whats the wheel track difference?
Has anyone done this? if so would they like to share their storey?

I've had some pretty darn good success wih this kit over here, pretty easy to assemble and a half dozen guys from over your way have purchased the kits as well and seem pretty happy.
seems the 8" rear holds up pretty well, one of my first "crash test Dummies Alex has been abusing them in his Disco Truggy (4000 pounder) on 39 IROC's for a couple years and he's all about "screw it! I have a trailer if I break it!"
Personally, I'd do (did, on three trucks of my own) detroit in the rear and an E locker up front. That said I might do an ARB in the rear of my 110 only because of snow and ice. It will get an 80 series front up for sure, probably an ARB though as I have a new non e locker 80 series front third sitting on the shelf.

I like 'crash test dummie Alex's' motto. I dont have a trailer but I have cracked it a few times n almost left it in the bush or burn the thing (Im sure every range rover owner has thought this)
I got a grinding sound coming from the front diff now and over an inch of play in the gears so i gotta make my mind up quick.
Hi Guys, Thanks for heaps of the info, I have been told that if i do a Disc to Disc conversion, to go GQ front and 80 Series Rear, Can I go GQ Front and Rear? I can get a set atm quite cheap, at least this way if i break an axle out in the bush I can get another one easily instead of getting a custom.
If I cant go GQ front n rear, ill stick to the toyo center conversion, as I already have a Hylux ARB rear for it.

You can, but the centred rear diff from the GQ will vibrate with the offset Rover transfercase. This is why most use the cruiser rear end which is also offset.
