Disco Front end /steering shudder at speed

Get rid of the poly's and fit OEM rubber bushes and check your panhard rod bushes too.

Has it been lifted?

They need replacing.The bearings wear in the straight ahead position,thats why they are loose and bind when you turn on lock.It is a piontless exercise resetting the pre-load,you are flogging a dead horse. Pat

Nah , hasnt been lifted,

Will have a look at the book tonight and see how hard this 'replace the bearings ' job is.

If they are Super pro bushes they are better than OE.
The bushes in the radius arms will NOT be the problem.

A crook front shock absorber can do this too. I've had the same symptom on the Defender, it was one dead shock.

Adjusted the right hand swivel pin preload then went for a 50 k drive and problem gone:D It drove like a different vehicle and I am stoked !!! This has been an issue for 2 months so thanks again !!!!

Only issue is Im down to one thin shim in the LHS and none in the right, so I guess a rebuild will have to happen soon. At least it gets me driving for a few weeks or so.
