    Ancillaries to Stage1 V8

    Gday gurus,

I've got a Stage1 3.5 litre V8 sitting around here. Is it easily possible to add additional ancilleries that were found in the Rangies, discos and Defenders such as PAS pump, AC pump, EFI manifolds etc or did the motor evolve a little later to be able to fit these?

    TIA.
    Cheers

Certainly you can fit PAS pump and AC compressor but I dont know about the EFI manifolds - havent had any experience with them at all.

the front covers are different between the serpentine/flat belted ones and the v belted cars. If its an earlier efi - pre 94, i do not see a problem, but i havent done it personally.

    G'day andy, thanks for this.

It not with the 3.9. There is a 3dr Disco on ebay that is selling cheap at the moment with a motor that is about to blow. I've always wanted a 3dr just because they're that little bit different. I've got a Stage1 V8 and gearbox sitting around here - the one which I pulled from my series and I was half wondering if that could be used in the disco to replace the motor which is in it and keep it running - so in a long winded way it should be a pre 94.
    Cheers

You will need to notch the cylinder head intake ports for the injectors to fire through. When you have the heads side by side you will see the difference. It should only be a few minutes work with a die grinder.
