Thanks. Since discovered its the vacuum pump. Added it to the list of things to be done if I get Mr Rudd's money.

i did one and not knowing the problem replaced the pump and thought it was done and dusted, but it happened again not long after this.

So i took the pump off, cleaned it up and then soldered over the leak, this stopped the leak, then to stop the problem from coming back i tool the hard plastic original fuel line off and fitted a longer piece of rubber fuel line secured with hose clamps on either end, its now been nearly 4yrs and not a problem since. Another one of my fixes for your reference mick.

    vacuumpumpfix

its not fool proof and it might weep a little bit but it saves needing to replace the pump at a cost of around $400. But when you do it dont use screw driver headed bolts use hex head bolts and dont use a gasket use a nice smear of liquid gasket, the loktite brand is good. Then put the end cap back on and do the bolts up tight. Mine leaked after doing the job with the screw driver bolts cause i couldnt get them tight enough, but with hex head bolts its easier cause you can use a socket and a spanner to tighten them. Now mine doesnt leak at all, if it does it weeps a bit and doesnt drip. Matt
