    Paint code problems continue...

    Hi all,

Posted a thread some weeks ago about the colour code for a 1994 defender 130. Thanks to some helpful posted i determined that the code was 01white and i was of the opinion that i could just go and get paint mixed from that code, but my local paint supplier thought otherwise... Apparently that code does not exist as a code he can mix paint to. Ive had a search around on the net and found that codes LRC.456, LRC.456(L), LRC.456(Y) and LRC.354 match the years the fender was built. Are any of these 01white or does this colour have an LRC code?

    Cheers, Tim

i feel ya pain! my 2004 90 has the same problem. its painted in a colour that only ford in south affrica use PD7-347.. i had to get the paint colour matched to a sill panell i had, this is hard to do as paint changes colour when it dries.
you may have to get some samples made up and spray a test piece and see which one dries closest to your white. also make sure that the under coat colour is the same on your test piece as this will affect the end result.

    cheers phil

It may help if you could provide a sample of the paint you want to the paint shop (maybe you can take along you bonnet, or the driver side door). Most have a facility where they can scan and analyze the colour. The computer will then compose your blend, matched exactly to your specimen.
And then, have a look at this website:

Have a look if you can find what you are looking for.

    Sorry you're still having problems.

If you get stuck, have a look here for LR repairers who go by the LR codes all the time:

Thanks scouse, i think i will have to find someone with some experience in painting landrovers like you suggested. would just be much easier if they put the colour code on the VIN plate....

The whites listed are under a 1994 Deefa.

    Alpine White (Solid)
    Chawton White (solid)

Maybe start with these and see where it goes....

    Cheers
