The serial number is: 36A. 0637257K
I'm still a little confused about the mating of it all.
lets go over what i have and what i want to do:
1998 LR Def110 cab chassis, 2.8tgv. The engine has been fitted in as a replacement for the 300tdi that died. Everything else is in stock location.
I'd like to leave the gearbox, transfer case where they are and move the engine rearward.
I've been led to believe the lt77 bellhousing will suit the bolt pattern of the 2.8tgv and the R380?
you talk about the rear casing on the R380 being 30mm longer than the lt77, so the R380 without bell housing is 30mm longer than a lt77 without bellhousing? if they have there repective bellhousings on (R380 having the special "short" housing) they are the same lenght?
so if using the lt77 bell housing which pinion shaft will be too short? the lt77 or the speacial "short" R380?
im guessing the stock R380 pinion will be way to long...
this is good info but is a bit of a moot point, as the short bellhousings cant be had.
so my only option is to use a lt77 bellhousing and get a pinion made. what issues will need to be addressed?
what do i need to do with regards to nose casings in my situation? 2.8tgv-lt77 bellhousing-R380 gearbox.
anything else i should look out for?
cheers, Serg

ok, im hearing some conflicting information.
Does the lt77 bellhousing have the same bolt pattern to suit R380 and 300tdi/2.8tgv?
