    Body lift question

Just wondering why people don't go for 3 inch body lifts. Why did LRA decide on 2.75, or whatever it is? Is that about the limit, would a 3 inch be safe?

I did a 3 inch (75mm) lift to my 1975 HJ Holden ute. I never had any trouble with it at all and I took that ute all over Australia.

When I registered the ute in the NT I removed the lift blocks and reduced them to 2 inch (50mm) because the registration authorities could self approve that height, whereas a 3 inch lift required engineers approval.

Thinking about 35s Mark, but a long way off yet. With 32s and a 2 inch BL there ain't much room left under the guards. When running 35s I don't want to lose too much up travel so started thinking about a bigger BL to help maintain my current flex.

I was looking through some old pics today and that was just one of them. I have quite a few pics of that one and my first Holden, a WB.

Good thing I have another WB in the shed at home part way through a buildup. THis one is being done right, body off chasssis, etc.

Mine was full resto with a new chassis, (one of the last available so AMCAP WA told us...) It got a 308, TH400 stage 1 shift kit, 3.08:1 LSD sals with tonner axles etc, woodgrain facia GTS dash EX HZ premier, 4 post bullbar and 2 Bull lamps, single 2.5" exhaust, bla bla.
    I loved that ute
Still, had to move on, and now I love my Rangie

My plan is rack and pinion steering, EFI 304 stroked to 355 and supercharged , 6 speed manual, 9 inch, 17 inch rims, big brakes, etc.

Then refit the bullbar, rollbar, stoneguards, etc.

I want to make it good enough for tarmac rallys, touring class.
