How badly is it leaking? Constant stream? A little bit of a leak? Generally, the volume of the leak will get worse slowly unless something is structurally wrong, eg split hose, failed quick connects, etc.
I'd take a look at the extent of the leak and then take a punt.

When mine was leaking, it was a steady drip at idle, probably every 2 seconds per drip, but when revved the dripping stopped.
Maybe your leak will slow when on the road?
I drove mine for about 3 months leaking and it started as slight weep but by three months was steady leak about 1 drip every couple of seconds, apart from using a bit more juice it will be fine, I have never heard of it stopping anyone driving. Should freeze over there anyway, diesel icicles hanging under the Rangie!

Ok so I can confirm that the O ring fix is unlikely. Nothing wrong with the O rings I bought from FPS, but the leak is coming out of the diaphram itself. I'm trying to source a new Bosch regulator by Thursday, does anyone have tips on where to go?
Repco want to order it in at a cost of $180.

Just to amplify on this, IMHO if you have a leaking FPR it is wise to clean up the area by degreasing and get a mirror and light or a little camera thingo and have a good look at the FPR after a day or so.
I could see that mine was dry around the diaphragm, so felt confident to just fit a seal kit. The camera ( even the new Ebay one to laptop) was pretty useless and I got the best view with a mirror with light on a stick and lots of contortions.
If it is dry around the diaphragm you will almost certainly get away with a seal kit, but if there is diesel coming out there either the regulator oring is leaking or the diaphragm is leaking, and to buy a new complete assembly becomes a 50/50 propostion depending on how much you love cramps.
I will not say at present there are no leaks as this is bad Karma . Lets just say that so far the puddle volume has diminished greatly.

G'Day All,
Well, today I bit the bullet and after much cursing and swearing removed my leaking FPR, replaced all the O rings and then started to put it all back together again.
After much more cursing I completed the task at hand and eagerly primed the engine and started it. I git under the vehicle and to my dismay found a steady drip at 20 second intervals from the lower part of the FPR housing.
I did notice that the new O rings were a different colour to the originals which are black.

So, any clues on what to do next? I'm thinking about getting other FPR O rings and perhaps a new gasket and if that does not work I guess I'll have to spring for a new FPR. Not looking forward to taking it apart another 2 times though :mad:
