I was checking the Nanocom and the Madman to see any differences and the Nanocom seems to read a slightly higher coolent temp, around 3 degrees, strange considering the sensors are right next to one another.

Watch DOG Temp : sensor on RH front side of cylinder head
typically sits around 80c on the highway but has been up to 92c towing up long hills.
Previously had the sensor on LH front of head but found it generally read higher and was more volatile (had max of 96c on long uphill in 2H - not towing). Possibly due to proximity to the exhaust port.

NOW - my aircon condenser packed up and I drove a couple of days without it..... coolant temp dropped by 12 degrees !! Also of note is the plastic grill in front made 5 degrees difference when removed.
Whose got transfer case and auto box temp readings ?
Auto temps........
Cruising @ 80 kph, 30 deg ambient, pressurized head/gasket towing campervan...88 deg.
Cruising @ 100 kph, 22 deg ambient, towing campervan....44 deg.
Stop/start traffic, 22 deg ambient, towing campervan....65 - 85 deg.
Climbing Blue Rag Track @ 5 kph, 24 deg ambient, low range 1st....100 - 120 deg  Multiple Madman alarms going off....:p
Yes....removed fill plug and replaced with sensor/adapter. It is well protected there so you do not have any issues with being ripped out. Unless you are really hooked up :p
With the temps I think you have to remember that this is the oil temp only so everything else is very much hotter. I would be stopping somehow if the oil temps reached 130 deg. Just a personal choice as it could be quite possible to go much higher.
There is a graph which Slunnie gave a link to for auto temps...it's in here somewhere
