The level plug (and drain plug) was deleted around '96/'97, and even with correct levels they still do it when hot.
Obviously the pressure builds up when hot so the swivel housing has to vent somewhere and if the pressure gets high enough the only place for the oil/grease to go is the axle tubes/diff housing.

The seal you are looking for is #8 in the "diff tube seal" pdf. The others will show you the outer end seals for swivel to bearing.

My 1993 D1 had the same problem, I made sure that I checked the swivel oil levels regularly. Eventually when I did a front end rebuild with all new seals and bearings I replaced the swivel oil with "one shot" grease as was used in later D1s. (Those without the drain plug at the bottom of the swivel housing.)

no i didnt realise there was a level plug i though the filler plug and level plug was the same thing. Guess i best take some out. bugger.
