The groove is there due to the flap pressing on it. The new ones are all flat.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Thanks Justin
Ive been doing a bit of research in the mean time and I think the series 3 Part MUC 4299 looks to be a better design.
Or well you live and learn just hope this stops sum of the water getting in.

when i bought my 18 month old def 110 in 2000, the vent seals were partly falling off...typical
i replaced them with series ruber type....unfortunately like alot of things, the vents are made from thinner material and distort easier... the ruber is harder to compress...but till this day the seals are still in A1 condition...just the vents are a little bent and let a bit of fine air in on the highway, they dont leak, though the windscreen to bulk head and windscreen/bulkhead bolts do...

Aaron, are the new ones SIII o Defender ones? The series ones go on the lip of the vent (as in photo), but the Defender ones adhere to the vent flap.
Thanks for your help guys.
New seals installed also have the left over rubber that comes with the seal thats in the middle (see 2nd pic) was thinking about cutting it in half and using along the bottom of the sill where the door closes.
Also on another note just finished rebuilding our aircon/heater box that had a little cancer and crap in it, also a quick lick of paint.
