what would make it do a runaway??
thats what we want to know...something must of been fueling it.
Stuck throttle maybe but it looks ok...and I don't see how a stuck throttle would make it rapidly increase the way it did.
we were so close to getting this thing back on the road....just feels like a kick in the guts!
turbo seals?? oil going into motor making it run away
I've had a few runaways here over the years:(. Most of them oil injection the hard way and managed to stall them out. I had one get away some prawn washed an oil bath filter with benzine:eek: It took off so hard, knocked and slipped the clutch. Had to block the air intake to kill it.
Did yours see big revs and rattle before death? White smoke... Fuel I think.
ok there is a possiblity that the coolant isn't related....as one of the heater pipes was lose on the clamp and it looks like it actually just took the easiest rout out when up to pressure. as coolant wasn't low! and had only dropped a samll amount out
But pulled the oil cap off as Ian asked me to smell it and tell him what it smelt like. and I can't say it smells of anything particular other than BURNT
we have pulled pipes off the turbo, and although tiny bit of oil around the end of the outlet all pipes are clean inside
have a look at the air intake plumbing at the inlet manifold........
see if there is any oil in there.........
Its oily on number 1 cylinder and on the outlet manifold the rest is just suety on the outlet..
just about to take the inlet off..
how many kms has it done.....?
