Just thinking the same.....

ok inlet off.....he gave it to me to smell..(Ian can't smell for anyone wondering) inlet smells like a cleaner!!!
So its possible that he has left some cleaner in the intercooler, although he doesn't remember cleaning the intercooler.
I thought he had and he didn't think he had...which would account for the car running away once it sucked it in.
mmmmmmmmmm still haven't got down to the head to know whether there is damage done
so...is the No. 1 inlet clean like the others......?
if it is....then its getting oil internally.......from the cylinder.......
could be rings.......or may have dropped a valve and holed the piston.....
cant tell till the heads off......
if there is oil in the inlet manifold......then its getting it from an external source........
which could be turbo or intercooler........or similar......
yes number 1 inlet is clean....
I asked why the oil would be there he thinks that oil has probably been forced passed the ring due to the high rev it incountered before stopping.
thats sort of a good sign.........
i would refit the manifolds and start it up with the intercooler disconnected....so its only getting clean air..........
but have it in 5th gear so you can stall it if it runs again......
i dont think there should be any problems inside unless the high revs did any damage......
how many kms has it done......?
Yeo that is what he has decided he is going to do he is already putting everything back on
Thanks tony for your advice
DB how did it stop had u closed off the inlet or shut the fuel off to it ???
Id crank it with the manifolds off and listen for internal damage as id say its had cleaner in it to run on like it did you may be pulling it down for no reason at all tho will be a good excuse to reco the head :D
