I asked the question of the technical advisors at RACQ.

Short answer - they tested it on a selection of their patrol vehicles and after a couple of years there was no appreciable difference in corrosion between the vehicles that had been fitted with it, and those that weren´t.
They are not prepared to spend heir money on it.

    Regards
    Scott

    Galvanic corrosion

I'm no chemist but I'd agree that I don't see how it works if it's not completely submerged as it's the water that earths the current. If it works we could also just treat our steel cars like oil rigs and bolt a lump of alluminium to the chasis! Whenever I don't see miricle before and after photos by a non-affiliated examiner I have my doubts!

I don't disagree but feel I have to defend myself! I'm sceptic re fuel pills, hydrogen generators, etc, but LR promotes this as "LR approved" along with tinting, roof racks, winch kits, etc.

I assumed (by the sounds of it, Stupidly) that I didn't need to check and test the veracity of their statements. A cynic and sceptic by nature, I DO NOT need this sort of encouragement to disbelieve what I'm told even more

mmm belive me after working at a land rover dealership, When they buy somthing for $200 and charge you $800 for it that will promote and approve anything . Same with the " clear coat " to protect the paint work from the Sun . Recon thats a crock of **** too

all nothing to do with Land Rover Just the dealership skiming some more money out of you when they sell you a car . And of course the salesman gets a bit more commision for him self. As they get pid a fair chunk of bonus for thoses sort of things . I could earn almost as much commission for selling the electrionic chassis thing as i got for selling a rangie sport . They are called spivs and goes on at all dealerships of all makes , same as when you go to but any electrical stuff and they try really hard to sell you extended warrenties

Why is it hard to understand? I can understand what he is saying no problems

he has taken the rust protection untis of 3 cars because they didn't work. and the cars that it does appear to be working on that he has seen all have a good coat of paint i.e it won't rust if its painted well...chassis and other prone bits.

and from what i understand he has sort the advice of an industrial chemist about the likely hoods of the untis working chemical reactions involved etc etc....probably because of his experience with them wanted clarification.

well thats how I read it anyway
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
