    300TDI EGR Blanking Plate Gasket

    Hi

My gasket has disintegrated and I am having trouble finding a source or part number for one. If I was to buy a EGR blanking kit off the web the gasket comes with it but all I need is the gasket. Any ideas of the part number or an alternative.

I have used a temporary one for another car from Super Cheap which is not a good fit just to keep me ticking over for now.

    Many thanks

    gozzie

Are you in oz what are you driving?
AFAIK Disco 300tdi's don't have EGR's they are already blanked, don't know about defenders though

Don't know a part number or where to source one but... Leo109 (Ian) on this forum sells EGT kits for the tdi that go into the blanking plate and he sells modified plates as well so he most likely would either also sell the gasket or should know a source, maybe shoot him a pm and ask!

I am thinking he has the standard blanking plate, and as a way of getting the gasket is looking at having to buy the blanking plate kit despite already being blanked?

the intake side cover you can seal with atv blue.

the exhaust side you give the plate a substantial lick of loctite #3 aka hylomar #3 or aviation gasket maker #3 put it on and let it sit for 24 hours.

    thanks for all the replies.

The people who normally service my Disco do not carry them and had no idea of the part number.

The Main Goldcoast dealer said it was no longer a carried spare by Landrover.

I have a 98 300TDI and when I took the blanking plate off to have a look (thinking of getting a thermoguard EGT gauge), the gasket fell to bits.

As my TDI is already blanked all I need is the gasket. If I have to I will buy a blanking kit just to get the gasket.

At the moment it is leaking from the plate and unsuprisingly it taking a lot to get up to speed, but the worst thing is it almost stalls when coming off a motorway off ramp when the revs drop.

Will limp by until I can get hold of something

    Cheers, Dave
