Thread: Stock switch configuation

Bear with me, as this takes a bit of translation-

The switches you are talking about sound like the dash pod switches that control rear wipers, washers, rear screen demist and rear fog lights on a update Disco 1 ( 1995+). ( And if you are lucky, some other optional extras). As you may have twigged, you can fit another one of those first four switches into the vacant spots on the dash pod. What you have to be careful about is what sort of extra switch you get. The rear screen demist and washer buttons are push only, and are no good for spotlights. Either a fog or wiper switch will do the job, and generally position 1 is in, 4 is out, 2 is for the dash light and 5 is ground ( for both dash and on light). They're only good for driving relays, and you only need to connect the feed from the high beam (in), connection to the relay (out) and maybe ground if you want the little 'on' light to work. I'd sugest outlaying the small amount of $ and buy yourself a copy of RAVE (see the markets section) The electrical troubleshooting guide has all the diagrams for these things - so you don't end up cutting the wrong thing.
