How big are the tyres on the first 90?
Seems a lot get to tow the "Landy Trailer"
Heavily weighted to Discos!
Nice.

N.B. Is it OK to say "Disco" in the years of 2000's? Go John and Oliva :-)
I was looking at several photos of Land Rovers which competed in the Murca Rainforest in Portugal and the setting up of this RR come to my attention.
Obviously these fellows know how to prepare their vehicles and they are based on previous experience but this is above me.
If you have time in THIS page are a awesome collection of photos of mainly Defenders in the Murca competition. Seat and enjoy, there are more than 100 photos.
Cheers

Why they have the radiator and cooling system at the back of the cabin?
I saw a rally 110 once with a mid-mounted V8 and radiator in a similar position. Under the bonnet was housing for extra in-line filters etc.
I used to co drive in comp safaris a bit in the UK in a 4.8l 110 and that had a rear mounted radiator, as has been said so it ddint fill up with mud and need cleaning every lap!
It did bring up a whole lot of new issues though!!
Like getting enough air through it which required a huge scoop above the cab!
I think that this is the only vehicle with this setup in this competition. There are a lot of photos of Defender 90 with the "normal" cooling set up.
Awesome competition![]()
yeh their all street registered. Thats the problem for us Aussies. For us to compete against vehicles like that we have to abide by the rules that the vehicle must be street registered in its country of origin.
Come on Lotto i need to move over seas
Great photos though
