I got a chart done at graemes over a year ago. My vehicle is a 3.9L Classic rangie, I have a peaky band which IMHO isnt as good as a flat, constant band like yours.

I can link it if you like. It has stock, exhaust, and haltech tuned comparisons on the one graph.

EDIT: I just noted that the graph you have is listed as being done in second gear, I thought third was a better option for the V8s?

Love to see it Grimace. I like the flatness of mine but it does seem low in comparison to Remy's.

Both Remy's and mine were done in second gear.

I need to do a spreadsheet to convert the speed to RPM and to also calculate torque. You'll note the other graph is AFR.

Re mine, it was rebuilt 15,000km ago and has a cam from a 3.5 litre distributor Rover engine modified to fit the 4.6 distributor-less Rover engine. This cam is designed for more torque down low rather than high power up in the rev range.

The car has had a vibration at idle since it was rebuilt. The vibration disappears as the revs come up. The engine is fully balanced so I'd expect it to be smooth. The engine builder has asked me to take it back to him. I will now that I have the dyno curves.

Below is my graph from my 3.9 - More details on the engine at the time, had good compresion (average 152psi) on all bores, done 240thou and no internals touched yet. Was stock gearing and standard tyres.

A damn sight better than mine.

Thanks, I'll plot that out. I might show it and Remy's to my engine builder. Yours is 10kw up on my 4.6 and Remy's has nearly 25kw more.

Mine is totally different to yours thou, as my vehicle was in third gear, your vehcile has larger tyres fitted, and my graph starts of weak as **** were as yours is strong from start to finish. The air temp is also much cooler so what sort of effect that may or may not have needs to be considered.

I don't think mine is better, but I do think yours can be improved, as obviously something is hindering the total power output.

p.s. once you figure it out and correct it your gonna **** your pants at the new found power

Re tyres, I was running stock size road tyres for the tune up, not my larger off-road tyres.

I drove Remy's car today. It has very smooth power delivery and just keeps accelerating. 0-80km/h in 9 seconds (time on a watch).

Then I drove mine. It's running out of breath by about 3000 rpm. 0-80km/h in 14 seconds.

I drove the cars back to back for the timed runs. Remy's is consistently 5 seconds faster than mine.

Note that neither car was really driven hard, just left in Drive (not Sport) and pushed. Mine was full throttle, Remy's wasn't pushed as hard as mine as it wasn't my car.

I spoke to the engine builder this afternoon and he was surprised and said something sounds wrong. I'm going to see him on Monday.

I'd really appreciate it if I can get some other representative 0-80km/h times from P38A owners. I spent a lot of money on this engine and it's disappointing.

    Hi Ron
Have you had your injectors serviced???
Once built a tough XE Falcoon with the EFi motor, for the goodies that went into it the performance and dyno was bad.
Had the injectors serviced and it went from a dynosaur to rocketship!!!!
