    2 Amigos

More curiosity than anything. The TD5 fender occasionally displays the old 2 amigos. Sometimes they go off by themselves, sometimes I need to play the old ignition off, open door twice routine.

Question is ... when displayed for an assumed not genuine fault in the system, does it actually mean that the ABS and TC are not working at that time? Never really had the opportunity/inclination to whack the brakes hard under these conditions to test.

I had this happen on my vehicle - one sensor was shot. What it meant in practice was that for that wheel, with the shot sensor, the ABS/TC is not working. It is however, working on the other wheels if those sensors are OK.

Well, my TC/ABS lights came on from time to time - then I'd restart the vehicle - they'd go off. Later they would come on again. So the lights were not always on - but the sensor was always shot. So your intermittent lights will mean that one or more of your sensors are shot too. The wheel(s) with the shot sensor(s) will not have operational ABS/TC.

Right ... thanks for that .... sooooooooo is there an easy way to ascertain which are stuffed? And how many buckeroos for the replacements?

The nancom unit was used to determine which sensor was shot. This was done on my trip around Oz last year - and it was under warranty so I don't know how much they are to replace. I do know they are the same as on Disco 1's so perhaps a wrecker might have some if they are FE.

assuming your trip was in the PUMA...how did you get a nanocom to talk to it?

Every time I have spoken to nanocom they haven't brought out the software yet!!
