Responses from the UK site:
"Did it a few years ago. Best thing I have done to it, manifolds are a straight fit."
"3.5 heads will fit, but you'll be short of the bottom four bolt holes in the block. The block itself is physically the same size as the 3.5 so fitting it won't be a problem. Personally I'd be more inclined to put some sort of efi on it, you'll be able to get more from the engine with electronic control than just using carbs."
"what about using 4.6 block and heads, but putting a performance 3.9 cam, and 3.5 front cover and timing gear (you can use the 101 oil pump), the 101 manifolds will fit and put SUs on it"
" It would be silly to downgrade to the original 3.5 101 oil pump! Stick with the better newer one! The 3.9 front cover and oil pump i fitted to mine keep the oil pressure loads better than the 3,5 one did."
"Real Steel do a high capacity uprated pump for the Rover V8 for not too much money. Definitely worth doing that. Their Viper Cyclone cam works well too (got one in the RRC)."
