85W140 in the rear salisbury (hypoid gears get fairly hot)
Any decent brand. I think I have castrol EPX in the front and either castrol or Nulon in the rear.
Your whining noise may also be coming from the t-case.
I wouldn't extend drains with Shockproof, it's primarily used as a high load race oil and uses a colloidal calcium (sulfonate ?) solution as the 'shockproof' additive. The calcium levels are incredibly high from those reported in the past, one test I've seen reported calcium in excess of 22,000PPM
I've heard of good results using Shockproof in the t/case, but then I had no wear on the input shaft spline on my LT230 and I just used whatever 75/80W-90 or SAE90 I had to hand for years because it leaked so badly, and I've heard of problems using Shockproof in other vehicles like Subaru's over 'normal' drain intervals.
If you wanted to extend drains and stay with Redline I would probably use one of their other excellent oils. Redline in the US even suggest Shockproof is a race only product.
and I use an 80W-140 in the rear diff too for the same reason Ben suggested.
A 75W-110 would be fine too IMO, if that viscosity was more freely available.
