Guys
What's the part number for the valve caps? You've inspired me to check the tappets and while I'm there I'll replace the caps and put on a new rocker cover gasket as well.
Cheers

LJC100270 according to the packet I have.
Not sure if that is the genuine number as there are no other markings on the packet (eg. LR, etc)
Yes but.......
How do you turn the engine over? It's not like a petrol donk where you can remove the spark plugs to relieve pressure.
I have been meaning to do mine for several years now - once I overcome this hurdle.
Cheers,
Paul
Thanks for the suggestion. It sounds like a pain all right - crawl under car, turn engine a bit, hop up again to see where the valves are. Doubly bad if you can only turn it clockwise - a bit too far and you start again.
Hmmm....it still runs perfectly, maybe next decade!
Cheers,
Paul
I have to do them every 10 to 20k while servicing these, about 300 of them in all:o
We don't have time to remove glow plugs either, they aren't much harder than a Petrol engine, I just use a long handle ratchet...and I eat Oat brits Jock, not that Weetbix rotgut:p
